The Two Styles of Website

A website is actually a series of related web pages, videos, images and other multimedia files that are hosted on a web server. This can be accessed by typing the uniform resource locator (URL) or the web address.

Now, there are two website styles. One is the static website and the other is the dynamic. In this article, we will discuss both the website styles and differentiate it from the other.

Static Website
A static website is often called as the classic website. It only contains simple pages and designs which are primarily made and coded using the Hyper-text Markup Language (HTML) and the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Also, this type of website does not have a database and files are therefore stored on the server directly.

Moreover, a static website may have five-pages or more but will not exceed to 10 and it can also be a brochure type of website. It usually presents the user the pre-defined information and contents may include information about the business or company, its products and services. The contents may be displayed as text, animation, videos, audio and/or photos.

Now, it is called as a static website because as long at it is not updated, the information displayed on the site will always remain the same. It will just provide consistent and standard information for the viewers. In short, viewers and visitors of this kind of website cannot control the information that they get from the site and must therefore settle for whatever contents that are displayed.

Yet, if you want to change the content of the site and update it, you can always do this. But, this kind of process may take longer since you are going to update the site manually. Meaning, you are going to edit the code and the text through its files that are saved on the server. Updating the site also require that you should have basic skills and knowledge about website design as well as the software to edit the pages.

Dynamic Website
A dynamic website is the kind of website where viewers and visitors can actually control the content of the site. This is more interactive and have database stored on the server for files that are to be needed by the viewers and site visitors.

It is called as dynamic because you can change the site content from time to time. And updating the site will not take long as you will only update the site using an administrative control panel which is at the back end of the site. This kind of website is very much easy to maintain compared to the static website.

Modules can also be found in this kind of website. And this is built according to a design which is to be made by the analysts and other consultants. However, a dynamic website might be easy to maintain but building this kind of website may took a bit longer than the usual static website.

Given that you already know the two styles of website, you will now be able to know what kind of website to use for your business. To know more about these website styles, just visit Get Design Dashboard.
